Fall is festival time.

Our town recently had their harvest festival. It involves a lot of vendors selling their makings around the courthouse on the square. There is a pumpkin festival this weekend nearby.  Another big deal is a corn maze several towns over. It is just the time of year when the weather finally cools and people want to gather and do something.

Kansas City just ended their yearly Renaissance Festival. http://www.kcrenfest.com/. My children and grandchildren love to go to this. I’ve never been to it myself. Last year my 14-yr-old granddaughter was asked to participate in a wedding there. Who knew they had weddings at these things? She and her friend were asked to come dressed as the weeping angels from the Dr. No. television show. If you haven’t seen them, this is what they are:

I think they served as ushers at this wedding. My granddaughter said they spent most of their day there posing for pictures with attendees. They got a lot of attention. This is how they looked:

My granddaughter is on the left in both pictures.

Very nice. They also resemble the turning angels in the Dr. Who series (although I’m sure your granddaughter is much nicer — turning angels are particularly nasty creatures!).

I believe everyone in their life should experience a Renaissance Fair at least once. It’s a blast! I love your granddaughters outfit! Great unique idea for a Ren wedding. Most of the ones here everyone is dressed as a typical Ren person or pirate.
